Engineering Internship Opportunity

Advanced Heat Treat Corp is a recognized leader in providing heat treat services and superior metallurgical solutions to companies across the globe.  We are looking for an intern to assist with various projects and tasks in metallurgy, operations, and maintenance.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about application of various state of the art heat treat techniques for aerospace, defense, firearms, automotive, construction, oil/gas, and agricultural customers.  Best of all, this internship is paid!

Basic Qualifications:

-Currently enrolled in a Materials, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer Major, or applicable discipline. Junior year or higher (preferred). -Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other windows-based software. -CAD knowledge / experience (preferred) -Effective written and verbal communication -Enthusiastic and motivated -Ability to work independently and with a team

-Data entry experience

-US Citizenship

Preliminary Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process creation and data entry for multiple facilities
  • Update of Work Instruction documents
  • Drive standard work for Metallurgy on compliance and quality requirements.
  • Analysis of historical data
  • Conduct Case depth study for various materials, times, and temperatures.
  • Generate new Lab Report Formats for special customer reports.
  • Assist in Metallurgical Laboratory as needed
  • Create Standard of work for X-Ray diffraction per specifications.
  • Manage critical inventory list, create purchase plan.
  • Input measurements of fixturing/tooling into CAD system. 
  • Data entry of run data and metallurgical results for future analysis
  • Analyze prints/specs/part thickness/etc. and create a template to cross-reference information
  • Analysis of blast media spending and usage. Identify better ways to process parts or identify more effective media, etc.
  • Other responsibilities assigned as needed

This is a summer paid internship (up to 40 hours per week) starting this Summer 2019 semester. Hours will be flexible, but a consistent schedule will be required.
