Advanced Heat Treat Corp. is looking for a driven leader to perform metallurgy and quality functions at our Cullman, Alabama location.  Our primary services are Ion and Gas Nitriding, which are surface hardening processes, performed for a wide variety of markets. 


  • Degree in Metallurgy, or closely related field
  • Experience in heat treat environment preferred. Must willing to learn the requirements of heat treat processing and metallurgy in support of customer requirements.
  • Experience in ISO standards (i.e. ISO9001) with a focus on problem solving, efficiency improvement and cost reduction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Writes heat treat process instructions, where applicable, by determining process parameters required to achieve customer requirements for the Cullman facility.
  • Calculate process variables necessary to achieve specification by using historical run data and charts, case depth, as well as other appropriate information related to heat treatment.
  • Act as a customer liaison and promotes continuous improvement by coordinating and/or participating in meetings with customers, as well as quality team meetings and employee meetings.
  • Coordinates customer relations by investigating and reporting any complaints or problems to the Corporate Quality Manager, Quality Director, and VP of Operations as applicable.
  • Facilitates Advanced Heat Treat Corp operations by traveling to customer sites, as well as other Advanced Heat Treat Corp. locations as needed.
  • Complies with established quality procedures in the performance and documentation of work performed.
  • Acts as a work director for Laboratory Technician.
  • Learn and lead Advanced Quality Planning and PPAP submission for facility on new programs and part introduction. Drive general facility quality activities, including control of quality records, monitoring quality objectives at all levels, implement, monitor and help maintain the QMS. 
  • Understand, create, and upkeep QMS plant documentation with a special emphasis on creating documentation to support customer and internal audit activities, and certifications to external customer requirements.
  • Lead and participate in RRCA efforts for Opportunities for Improvement (OFI's) to internal and external customers.
  • Promote continuous improvement by coordinating action on continuous improvement suggestions, customer issues including performing or coordinating root cause analysis, coordinating the corrective action, and leading/ participating in team problem solving activities.
  • Perform new employee training and testing as required by Quality Management System.
  • Project manage high level/ technical programs (assigned as needed)
  • Serves as a key member of AHT safety and environmental team(s).
